After surprising four needy students with scholarship money on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Black Eyed Peas frontman & tech entrepreneur will.i.am became inspired to formalize his philanthropy and start funding students in his hometown neighborhood of Boyle Heights in East Los Angeles. He created the i.am Angel Foundation 10 years ago to help kids get access to after-school tutoring, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) skills, obtain scholarships and graduate with a college degree. The i.am Angel Foundation delivers vital educational support to more than 1,200 K-12 students a year.
